Venice

Our journey began in Venice  in late February 2024, where we stayed for 10 days with our dear friend, Ann – at her beautiful apartment overlooking a canal on Guidecca Island. Ann showed us sunny views of domed Cathedrals, the many canals, bridges and their water reflections – as we travelled by the efficient water-buses (vaporetti) around this spectacular maritime city of many islands…..Apart from the historical, architectural beauty of the ancient Basilica of S.Marco, we enjoyed the charm of small bridges linking the many Venetian islands, the striking reflections of gondolas gliding  along these watery expanses  AND the absence of noisy cars and motorbikes!
